Over 60 students from across Peterborough received a well-deserved pat on the back last night at the annual Excellence in Skills awards at Peterborough Regional College. We sponsored one of the awards – Best Media Student – and it was a genuine pleasure to be involved.
Paralympic medal winner Ade Adepitan was guest speaker and gave an inspiring speech to warm up the audience – not that they needed any warming up - it was very evident that every student was delighted to be part of the evening and genuinely pleased to receive this recognition.
At a time when bad news seems to seriously outweigh the good, it does you the power of good to witness this type of evening.
It wasn’t an awards do for the sake of it – from the principal, college trustees and staff to the students, their families and friends, there was a real sense of pride about the achievements being acknowledged and welcomed on stage.
Congratulations to the college for another inspiring end of year event. We look forward to supporting you next year.
